Research Experience
Marine Microbiology Lab
-
Marine Microbiology lab studying bacterial involvement in host development. Working on Cryopreservation of Hydroides project; to find a long-term storage solution for sperm and egg of the tubeworm Hydroides elegans.
-
Working with a Ph.D. student on the development and immune system of Hydroides and how metamorphosis can be altered by different factors.
ABRCMS Conference
Annual Biomedical Research Conference for Minoritized Scientists - Fall 2023
-
Presented a poster for the research that was conducted over the summer of 2023. This project aims to help develop the tubeworm Hydroides elegans as a transgenic animal for developmental and host-microbe research through the use of cryopreservation and electroporation.
-
Received an award for the poster presented
Undergraduate Research Symposium
MARC Undergraduate Research Symposium - Fall 2023
-
Oral presentation for research gathered in Marine Microbiology lab
UCSD Health Annual Research Conference

UC San Diego Health Nursing Department Annual Research Symposium

Worked hand in hand with the nursing department of UCSD Health staff to create the annual research symposium E-Book. This E-Book showcases the research the nursing department has conducted over the current year and included 100 pages of research with nearly 200 attendees at the conference.
Biol 567 Lab Course

Biochemistry, Cellular, and Molecular Biology Laboratory II
-
Learned the fundamentals of a microbiology lab. Gathered samples from the ocean and looked at the DNA sequencing of the bacteria collected. Along with creating a full manuscript by the end of the course showcasing all that was gathered during the duration of the semester.
